about

this tune was written and recorded in odense, denmark during the same sessions as several tracks from the original 'everything's ok' album but didn't make the cut (the record already had 15 songs on it, so some cuts had to go). it was also part of a collection of demos i put together with the help of Alan Haber from Pure Pop Radio (see collage cover below). i remember being really into the boo radleys' 'wake up, boo' record at the time this was recorded, so i wrote a horn arrangement. unfortunately, we couldn't get hold of a horn section, so we used samples, but ran them through a guitar amp, which we mic'd, and pushed a bit for a little natural distortion. in the context of the song they don't sound too bad. my son cooper loves this one. listen closely and you'll hear theramin, a backwards snare and another 'penny lane-esque' piccolo trumpet.
